Buildings and Contents Insurance

Whether it is your home, investment, or rental accommodation, our advisors can find the right insurance for you.

Types of Buildings and Contents insurance

Household Insurance

Protecting your home and its contents is important for any homeowner or tenant. Household insurance offers two types of insurance policies: buildings and contents insurance. These can usually be bought together, often with a discount.

Buildings Insurance

If you are buying a property or mortgaging, having buildings insurance is mandatory when taking a mortgage. It is a condition of every mortgage offer that buildings insurance is in place. But aside from the mandatory aspect, insuring your property is crucial. Imagine having to rebuild your property following a flood or fire without insurance. Buildings insurance covers the physical structure of your home, including permanent fixtures and fittings like bathrooms and kitchens.

Contents Insurance

Contents insurance covers the loss of or damage to the contents of your home, including furniture, electrical goods, and other personal possessions. Some policies can also cover items you take outside your home, like cameras, jewellery, and briefcases. Different policies offer different levels of cover, but generally, you will be protected against theft and fire, and have the option to insure against accidental damage.
